Bank of America Announces $250 Billion Push Into AI, Energy and Critical Infrastructure

Bank of America is committing $250 billion to support critical U.S. infrastructure projects through mid-2027, as demand for AI and advanced technology drives a massive need for computing power, chips and energy.

The bank’s new Critical Infrastructure Finance Initiative will support projects involving AI data centers, semiconductors and hardware, power generation, renewable energy, energy storage, natural gas, water infrastructure and critical minerals.

The financing will be provided through lending, investments, capital-markets services and advisory work across public and private-sector projects. Bank of America says the initiative is designed to strengthen U.S. energy security, technological leadership and long-term economic growth.

The move comes as major U.S. financial institutions increasingly direct enormous amounts of capital toward the infrastructure needed to support the rapidly expanding AI economy.
