Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has called on Muslim countries to strengthen unity and confront what he described as their “real enemy,” referring to the United States and Israel.

In a written message released during Islamic Unity Week, Khamenei particularly addressed governments in West Asia and the Gulf, urging them to recognize what he considers common threats and oppose efforts that divide Muslim nations.

Khamenei also called for greater cooperation across the Muslim world, including mutual defense, and argued that divisions among Muslim countries benefit their adversaries.

He questioned whether the suffering of Palestinians would have continued on the same scale if Muslim nations had been united, while calling for stronger political and strategic cooperation.

The statement comes amid heightened tensions between Iran, the United States and Israel, with the wider Middle East still facing the consequences of the ongoing conflict.

Khamenei’s appeal could further intensify debate across the region over regional alliances, collective security and the future role of the United States in the Middle East.
