Karoline Leavitt to Leave White House Press Secretary Role at End of August

Posted by

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is set to leave her position at the end of August 2026, President Donald Trump announced.

Trump said Leavitt is stepping away so she can spend more time with her young children and family, while praising her as one of his most trusted aides.

Leavitt, 28, made history in 2025 when she became the youngest person ever to serve as White House press secretary. She is expected to remain involved in Trump’s political efforts as an outside adviser and influential Republican voice ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

Trump has not yet announced who will replace her as White House press secretary.
