The United States has reached a major clean-energy milestone as its first large-scale offshore wind farm becomes fully operational off the coast of Massachusetts, supplying electricity to hundreds of thousands of homes.

The United States has officially completed its first large-scale offshore wind project, marking a significant step forward in the country’s renewable energy transition.

Located off the coast of Massachusetts, the wind farm is now fully operational and capable of generating enough electricity to power approximately 400,000 homes. The project consists of dozens of offshore turbines designed to harness strong Atlantic Ocean winds and deliver clean energy to the regional power grid.

Supporters say the development will help reduce carbon emissions, strengthen energy security, and create thousands of jobs in the renewable energy sector. It is also expected to play a key role in helping the United States meet long-term climate and clean-energy goals.

The project represents one of the largest investments in offshore wind energy in American history and could pave the way for additional offshore wind farms along the U.S. coastline in the coming years.
